One week ago, I asked IC’s readers for help keeping Intercontinental Cry going. Today, I have one week left — and $305.17 still to raise.
First, I want to say thank you.
Several readers have stepped forward since I published my original appeal. Some made generous donations. Others shared the fundraiser with their friends and communities. Every contribution has mattered, and each one has brought us a little closer to the goal.
When I wrote that first appeal, I needed to raise $500 within two weeks.
I still need to raise that money. But now we only need $305.17.
For a large publication, that might not seem like much. For IC, it means the difference between continuing and having to step back.
Intercontinental Cry has never been a large newsroom. For more than two decades, I’ve kept it going with very limited resources because I believe this work matters.
There are Indigenous communities defending their lands and waters. There are land defenders facing intimidation and violence. There are governments and corporations making decisions that can reshape Indigenous territories for generations. And there are countless stories that receive little or no attention from the mainstream media.
IC exists to help bring those stories into the light.
I don’t want to see that work disappear simply because I can’t keep up with the costs of running the publication.
So I’m asking once more:
If you believe IC should continue, please consider making a donation.
It doesn’t have to be $100. It doesn’t have to be $50.
$10 helps. $20 helps. $5 helps.
What matters is that, together, we close that remaining $305.17 gap.
