The Ng are an Indigenous nation residing in the forested highlands of southern Cameroon. Closely connected to their environment, the Ng have traditionally practiced subsistence farming, hunting, and spiritual rituals rooted in ancestral knowledge. Their language, part of the Bantu linguistic family, is central to storytelling, oral history, and cultural ceremonies. Community leaders are increasingly engaging in advocacy to reclaim land rights and protect sacred forest zones from industrial exploitation. Efforts to document and teach traditional practices, language, and ecological knowledge are gaining momentum, supported by intergenerational storytelling and grassroots education. These actions reflect a powerful commitment to survival, sustainability, and self-determination rooted in a deep respect for the land and heritage.
