On Tuesday September 10th, Klabona Keepers and the folks at Beauty camp took over a drill that Fortune Minerals used for its environmental assessment. The drill, situated on Iskut Band’s trapline, had toxic chemicals all around it, and was right beside a fish bearing stream. There was also a diesel tank within two feet of the stream. There was no spill kit on hand.
